I raced this yesterday at 5-mile pass the third race of the intermountain cup race series. This race was a bit different then the previous races. First, I raced my new cobia. It is complete minus my seat post which is on back order. I had ridden it once earlier in the week and if had a different feel to it. During the race though I felt comfortable. The biggest change was the switch from XTR rapid rise to sram twist shift. The shifting on the rear seemed backwards to me at first, but no issues yesterday.
Secondly, I moved up a category. I did finish pretty well last year in the expert category. At the same time though I had not even spent a season as an expert. I was apprehensive of the increased distance as well as speed, but challenge is what leads to improvements. Right?! So I did it. I am not sure if I really belong there and will probably be sweeping the course from now on. Some one has to do it.
Thanks to Mad Dog Cycles for their support and Racer's Cycle Service for sponsoring a great and grueling race.
