Hey KC, I think I might do this trail tomorrow. It is hard to follow? Do you take lament or the great western trail? And do you start going up dry canyon or do you start on the water tank road?

In case KC doesn't answer:

The easiest way is to take Lament over to Dry Canyon. The trail takes a few turns that may not be obvious, but it gets used enough just look for the tire tracks.

Area 51 is higher than Lament so you have to go up Great Western a ways then fork left. But GWT is steep and rocky. There is a new, faint cheater trail that is rough but better than GWT - it's about 50 yard up GWT on the left (there was a cairn there months ago when I did it).

I recommend just going over on Lament unless you have the time and inclination to do some exploring.
