last night we (chris, tim, keith, and i) went on a night snow ride. it was a blast! we had a team meeting at 7 and then went to the gate of squaw peak. we put our warm clothes on, threw the bikes together, and headed up. it was magical. the snow glitter like diamonds in the HID lights. climbing was warm, excpet for a few places where the wind stripped your body heat. the snow was packed (thank you snow mobilers) and almost completely ridable. okay, if i were a better rider it would have been ridable to the top. we stopped at the topped and looked down on the valley for a few moments. beautiful.
heading down was not too bad except for the last ten minutes or so. i ate it once coming down and landed on my hip. it wasn't bad though and i really did not start feeling it until the drive home. it should bruise nicely. not long before returning to the gate there was a clear patch where we picked up some speed and then the wind hit hard. if it was much longer it would have been miserable, but the gate was just around the corner. i had a great time and look forward to doing it again. and to think i almost didn't go...
