My Hi-Fi XC is finished. I got Chris to set it up 1x9. The brakes are back and it was trail ready this week. I rode my single speed on Monday, the Hi-Fi on Wednesday and Thursday and today it was the SuperFly. I love all my bikes, but really the SuperFly is still the king (or queen).
Wednesday and Thursday rides were cold. Really cold. It makes me dread what is coming up in the next couple of months. Today was absolutely beautiful. And we rode just about everything above Timpanogos Park. We did Crank, down Dry, back on Bonneville, up to the altar, Area 51, Lament to the altar, down Frank's and Dragon's Back and then Bonneville south of the highway. It was around 3.5 hours. And I was warm climbing--that was the best part.

Back Again
We are back from LA. Luckily whatever little bug I caught only stuck around for about 18 hours or so. Around 2 am, my fever broke and the aches started to subside. I did not eat much until Tuesday night though. Then it was YW, sleep, and off to LA early in the morning.
Convention was just crazy. That is the best way to describe it. Looking at my schedule, I thought it was going to be pretty easy and carefree. There always turns out to be more work than you expect. I knew going into it though it is all about work. And while I answered very few questions on the science behind the products, I got some experience in security (while wearing a dress), lots of stocking, and the like.
While I did not feel especially good on my bike today, it did simply feel good to be back again. And my Hi-Fi is ready to be ridden again, this time it is one by nine. Oh, yeah.

If it is not one thing, it is something else.
Riding has been very up and down lately. I have had to work late and had other obligations that kept me off the bike. The weather has been spectacular, when it hasn't been raining. But really I would not complain about periodic rain if it fell on days I had to work late instead of days I can ride.
This weekend was beautiful. Perfect weather and prime trails. The plan was to put in lots of fun miles before taking several days off for Convention this week. Things were going so well. Unfortunately, I got a bit sick to my stomach today. Then the aches settled in. I am tired. I feel very warm, but cold at the same time. And I have not eaten anything since my scanty lil' breakfast.
No riding today.
I miss the consistency.

24 Hours O' Moab
Chucky, Josh, Chris and I competed in the Co-ed Pro/Am category of this years 24 Hours of Moab. The team did well. The guys laid down some fast and consistent lap times. And Matt kept everything together for us. I felt as though I did not do as well as I had hoped. I just felt my lap times were slow. I also missed my single speed. Don't get me wrong I love my SuperFly, but I think I prefer Behind the Rocks on a one speed. Just sayin'. Maybe I need a superfly single speed.
This year I had the opportunity of doing a 5th lap. It is always surprising how much we really are capable of even when we don't think we can do it. I thought that 5th lap would be impossible. While I cannot say I felt good, I did not feel terrible.
Why is it guys don't lock the doors on the bathrooms late at night? So I was going down for my second night lap. After racking my bike, I stopped by the out house. I open the door of not one but two differt occupied johns. Luckily each of the guys' backs were to me and the third was was truely vacant.

Moab Reconnaissance.
We went down to Moab for the weekend with a bizillion other people. We pre-road the 24 Hour course. My prediction--which is very different from what Granny Gear said earlier this past week--slower lap times. For example, the road back to camp from the water station is pretty sandy and much slower than it has been. The area should have gotten some rain today and hopefully they will get more throughout the week. Hopefully, Granny Gear can make it better.
We also road Sovereign from town. Surprising, I know. It is still our favorite. Even with wind and sand, it was a really good time. I did have a minor altercation. Now normally I am pretty even tempered and it is Chris who will say something. This time it was all me. I should probably also state that really I have no problem sharing the trails with responsible motorcyclist.
We rode it like we always do as an out and back from Willow Springs to Dalton Wells and back again. We were on the final climb heading north. This guy was off his bike taking a "break all natural". His motorcycle though was right in the middle of the narrow trail. I had to put a foot down and take a couple steps in order to maneuver around him. I said nothing. At the top of the climb on another single track area was the rest of this guys party. There were seven or eight of them. The latter half of the group again had stopped and were smack dab in the middle of the trail. And they laid a backpack in the obvious route around them. I had to dismount my bike walk through the sand and then remount. As I got back on my bike where the front portion of the group had the decency to be off the trail, one of them commented "Good Job". I said thanks and was on my way.
We got to the normal turn around point and started back up. The group of motor cycles was coming down. Again, the first half of the group yielded the trail. I met the last three on a narrow portion of a climb. The girl stops right in the middle of the trail. I again half to go around her. I pointed to the trail underneath her bike and said "That is the trail and I have right to it." The guy behind her said remarked that I "did not need to be a smarta$$." Smarta$$!? Dude, I was not being smart. I was stating the facts--motorcycles yield the trail to mountain bikes. I can be a smarta$$. For example, when the comment "Good job" was given I could have said "yeah, you should see me ride my bike." That would have been a smarta$$ comment. I was so ticked! Chris got a good laugh out of it as I was pretty worked up. Seriously!?
We also rode to the top of Amasa Back. On the way back we ventured on a new trail--Pot Hole Arch. The sign said to stay on designated trail. We tried, but it was not well marked at all. We never saw Pot Hole Arch either. Maybe we did not go to the correct spot. Hopefully with more riding, it will get better marked. It seemed pretty cool though.
